Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced person MCA to step up Into a Band 3 midwifery support worker (MSW) role on Mulberry ward (postnatal).

We are looking for a highly motivated MCA band 2 or to work under the supervision of the midwife to assist and support postnatal women and their babies on Mulberry. Essential is completion of MSW workbook to apply.

Main duties of the job

To work as a member of the ward assisting the Midwifery staff with supporting the care needs of women and their babies. To undertake assigned tasks and appropriate interventions for women and their babies with minimal supervision but under the direction of the midwife.Be able to work in a flexible manner regarding hospital placements and shift patterns depending on the needs of the service. To provide leadership and support to junior colleagues and ensure high standards are maintained in a safe environment which promotes equitable and compassionate care.

Always be aware of the responsibilities and limitations of the Maternity Support Worker (MSW).

  • NVQ level 3 or Equivalent (or working towards).

Experience

  • Previous experience as a healthcare support worker
