Fixed Term Junior Improvement Fellow in AAU (Full-Time)

Available from 1st August 2024 for up to 12 months

This is an exciting new role where we are looking for a passionate, motivated individual who is keen to impact real change within the NHS and shape the healthcare system around them. This role hopes to link management and medicine and instill a culture of improvement. The successful applicant will have the chance to work closely with senior managers and understand some of the patient related challenges that are faced daily. They would have the opportunity to get dedicated improvement coaching and will be encouraged to display a proactive attitude towards identifying and initiating improvement projects.

The postholder will have the chance to work closely with senior managers and understand some of the patient related challenges that are faced daily. Formal teaching and guidance on the IQ process will be provided and the postholder will be expected to display a proactive attitude towards identifying and initiating improvement projects

Main duties of the job

Support Senior Clinicians in providing care to patients across the department

To carry out practical procedures and

To ensure accurate documentation and ward round jobs are completed

To work well with the multidisciplinary team with a shared goal of excellent patient care, including assisting co-ordination of board-rounds

Leadership and Management

To assist operations teams in supporting bed-flow and board-rounds

To learn and shadow clinical leaders and gain an understanding of their job roles and what challenges they face

Liaise with operational managers on a regular basis (including weekly 1-1s) to bring about strategic alignment between managers and clinicians at all levels

Improvement

To assist with audit data collection and clinical outcome reporting

To bring about an improvement culture to the department and ward

To take ownership for improvement in all areas of the ward, in particular patient flow.
