We are currently looking to recruit a Band 4 Senior Administrator to join our Women's Health Divisional team based at the Royal London Hospital in East London.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced individual who will provide an efficient and professional administrative service to the Women's Health Divisional Triumvirate consisting of Divisional Director, Divisional Director of Operations and Associate Director of Midwifery; alongside their deputies.

As the Divisional environment is fast-paced, the preferred candidate would need to be able to work autonomously, use own initiative, be able to effectively prioritise workload and multi-task. In such an environment it is also important for the candidate to possess strong team-working skills and be able to remain calm under pressure.

This role would provide the candidate with the opportunity to develop their skills in being able to provide an effective administrative provision to a Senior Team within a supportive environment.

The role requires the candidate to be able to work primarily within the hours of 9am - 5pm Mon-Friday but flexible and remote working will be happily considered.

Main duties of the job

The "Divisional Triumvirate" is made up of a senior doctor, midwife/nurse and manager who together are the senior leadership team Women's Health and outpatient services at The Royal London Hospital.

The Divisional Administrator's role is to to provide comprehensive, specialist administrative support to the divisional triumvirate. This will include providing a wide and varied range of administrative and secretarial duties to all members of the team and deputies where appropriate. Ensuring that work is effectively prioritised in accordance with the work priorities of the team will require the post holder to exercise a high level of autonomy in managing the totality of the workload.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent demonstrable experience (minimum Grade C) in Mathematics and English.
  • Minimum RSA II typing/work processing or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Minimum RSA II typing/work processing or equivalent demonstrable experience.

Desirable

  • ECDL
  • Evidence of continued professional development

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in an administration role within a busy office environment
  • Experience of arranging appointments and diary management
  • Experience of minute taking
  • Experience of implementing and maintaining electronic filing systems
  • Experience of dealing with matters of a sensitive or contentious nature.

Desirable

  • Understanding/experience of HR processes including recruitment and the management of sickness absence
  • Experience of working in a public sector or healthcare setting

Knowledge
