Job summary

An exciting fixed term opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic and forward-thinking pharmacist, to join the Infection & Immunity team at Barts Health NHS Trust.

The post holder will be well integrated within the Sexual Health multidisciplinary team and work closely with the other members of the team to develop the service

The post holder will be involved in the following areas:

Provide high quality, patient centred, pharmacy services to GUM/Sexual reproductive health & HIV.

Lead on projects and undertake service reviews

Have opportunity to develop leadership, governance and research skills.

Contribute to education & training for pharmacists and other health care professionals

Main duties of the job

o To lead the clinical pharmacy service to the Integrated Sexual Health speciality in providing responsible, safe and cost-effective prescribing within the networks to:

- Optimise patient clinical outcomes

- Minimise adverse reactions and errors

- Improve medicines safety

o The post will support the service development in the provision of HIV PrEP care across all the All East sites.

o The post will have a vital role in addressing equity of access and developing bespoke pathways to engage and optimise uptake amongst populations with current poor uptake of PrEP (including racially minoritized MSM, migrant MSM, women, transpeople, sexworkers)

o The post will be responsible for improving the pharmaceutical and therapeutics pathways for integrated sexual health care across all of the ALL East sites

o The post will help to deliver the broader Medicines Optimisation and Governance Strategy across the Trust. These outcomes will be achieved primarily through leadership of clinical staff, and the publication and implementation of guidelines and procedures to encourage best practice
