Job summary

The Respiratory Physiology service at Barts Health NHS Trust has an opportunity to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic individual to the role of Lead for Respiratory Physiology (Band 8a) services to provide leadership and supervision to the St Bartholomew's Hospital site, Mile End and the Royal London Hospital (adult service). The respiratory physiology service is a busy laboratory that provides a range of test such as spirometry, plethysmography, gas transfer, respiratory muscle strength assessment, skin allergy testing, 6min walk test, IOS, CPET, sleep studies amongst other respiratory diagnostic testing

Main duties of the job

The role is primarily based at St Bartholomew's Hospital but involves rotation to other sites at the Mile End and the Royal London Hospitals. The post-holder will be expected to function independently as an expert in respiratory physiology and will be able to maintain their clinical skills as well which may include one day a week at St Bartholomew's Hospital.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to engage in service improvement and re-design, site management, budgetary management, staff management as delegated by the Head of Cardiorespiratory physiology but also with a high degree of autonomy
