The Royal London Emergency Department is looking for a forward thinking, highly motivated Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team within a busy and rewarding Major Trauma Centre.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide the highest standard of individualised and holistic patient care, in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Work collaboratively with the ED Nursing, Medical and Operations team to provide care that is safe and effective.
  • Supports the example set by the senior sisters/charge nurses to act as a senior nurse providing organisation managerial support to the multi-professional team
  • To act as a role model to junior members of staff
  • To work within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, trust policies, guidance and procedures to ensure safe working practice of self and others.
  • To take charge of the Emergency Department when required to do so
  • Strive to work within the national targets for Emergency Departments
  • To line manage a group of Emergency Department Assistants and Staff Nurses
  • To engage with Quality Improvement Projects to enhance patient and staff experience
