Are you a qualified Nurse who is interested in a career in Public Health? The Royal London Hospital site - Barts Health NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse with specialist interest in Maternity Services to support the delivery of the Public Health Agenda.
The role is to support the Band 6/7 Public Health team in planning, implementing and delivery of the Immunisation and Screening Programme, thus contributing to the delivery of a high quality Public Health Programme for pregnant women and their new born babies by providing advice, information and promoting the Screening and Immunisation Programme. The Band 5 Nurse will assist the Band 6/7Midwife in providing support and education to all Midwives and other members of staff.
Have you got the following?
- A current Nursing registration, preferably with one year post qualification experience
- Skill in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, patients, public and external agencies
- Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgement, decision-making and problem-solving expertise
- Ability to research and prepare reports or other correspondence as required
Main duties of the job
- To contribute to the delivery of a high quality public health programme for pregnant women and new born babies in Barts Health NHS Trust.
- To take a woman-centred and public health approach to improve health and tackle inequalities.
- To provide advice, information and promote immunisation Including Public Health Screening programme to pregnant women and to provide support and education to other staff.
- To maintain and update electronic records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with The Nursing and Midwifery Council.
