Job summary

You will have the following qualities:

  • The expertise in operations to support the ADOM to provide professional leadership and day to day management of the service.
  • To provide leadership to midwives, by promoting the highest standards in the learning environment with the aim to ensure the delivery of safe quality care.
  • Self-relating midwifery practitioner who horizon-scans to ensure the divisional governance activities remain in line with current best practice.
  • Experience in transformational leadership.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of the role is to provide operational midwifery leadership across the maternity service to ensure and consistently develop high quality efficient midwifery provision for al women and people accessing maternity care at Newham University Hospital. The post will support the Associate Director of Midwifery (ADoM) in leading the development of the midwifery agenda within the named services. The postholder will be the named deputy for the Associate Director of Midwifery.
