Following a recent restructuring of the Medicine division, an exciting opportunity has arisen for Healthcare assistants to join the recently opened Acute Admissions Unit.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with or without previous experience to join a busy unit which has 52 beds and accepts direct admissions from our Emergency Department for all medical specialties including patients requiring cardiac monitoring.

You will be supported by the registered nurses and work with a team of ward managers, practice development nurse to provide exemplary care to the patients on the unit.

We are looking for candidates who are able to work in a fast paced environment and to develop themselves further.

As part of Barts Health there is also a wealth of training and development opportunities available to the successful applicant.

Main duties of the job

The Health Care Assistant is a member of the ward / department team who implements prescribed care and undertakes administrative activities as directed by a registered nurse.

Minimum requirements: -

  • Must be articulate, numerate and literate.
  • Must have effective interpersonal skills, have a genuine desire to work with people, have a caring manner and be particularly interested in working in day surgery and assisting in clinics.Must uphold the vision and values of the Trust.
  • Must have basic I.T. skills.
