Job summary

We are looking forward to welcoming a motivated and dynamic individual to our service at WCUH, a hospital in the heart of East London with a hugely diverse population. This post will work closely with the IBD Multidisciplinary team and gastroenterology department to establish and provide a highly specialist dietetic service to IBD patients and patients with coeliac disease. Whilst this post will be situated and professionally supervised at WCUH the post holder will be a member of the wider Trust Nutrition and Dietetic team from whom clinical support can be obtained and with whom strategies can be developed. The post holder will maintain a strong professional presence within both the dietetic and gastroenterology teams, building the dietetic service and contributing to relevant research and audit projects.

The leadership elements of this post will be around service and staff development on site and occasionally on other sites. Research and audit are key in providing excellence in care and the IBD and Dietetic Teams at Barts Health have an active audit programme to which all staff contribute.

We are committed to work based education and training to improve clinical skills and there is a robust system in place for staff supervision and CPD.

  • To manage a Dietitian led coeliac disease clinic
  • To develop the dietetic service for patients with inflammatory bowel disease and coeliac disease
  • To manage/supervise more junior staff
  • To ensure that research and audit is undertaken on a regular basis to ensure that practice is evidence based
  • To supervise staff on a day to day basis.
