Job summary

The role of Digital Learner Support and Engagement Coordinator is required to provide administrative support for the educational platforms used by the Education Academy to host its learning materials and programmes and to help promote the courses and resources available.

The post-holder will be expected to provide systems support to users and ensure efficient and effective processes are in place for the updating and promotion of resources. This will involve working closely with other team members, clinicians, operational staff, as well as with stakeholders in partner organisations.

The post-holder will be expected to undertake a wide variety of tasks, including

communicating with stakeholders and supporting the marketing of Education Academy digital courses and programmes, to increase awareness and maximise engagement. Some ad hoc training of staff in the use of the Moodle platform and the learning portal may also be required.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our busy team. The post holder will be required to provide administrative support for the educational platforms used by the Education Academy to host its learning materials and programmes and to help promote the courses and resources available.

The post holder will be required to work closely with other team members, clinicians and operational staff, as well as with stakeholders in partner organisations.

The post-holder will be expected to support the marketing of Education Academy digital courses and programmes, to increase awareness and maximise engagement. There will be a requirement to undertake some ad hoc training of staff in the use of learning systems in order to support their on-going personal and professional development.

Job responsibilities

Customer Service

  • To answer enquires in an efficient and responsive manner, having a customer focused approach to any issues in order to ensure they are addressed satisfactorily, taking ownership where possible and seeking advice and guidance as necessary
  • To act as the first point of contact for information regarding the availability of on-line resources on the Academy learning portal and Moodle platform, and provide support where appropriate regarding access
  • To provide advice and signposting to digital resources available for use by Trust staff on NHS Elect
  • To provide ad hoc training for staff in the use of the Moodle platform and learning portal in order to promote confident use of the systems.

Systems Management

  • To provide a support function by being responsible for the efficient management and maintenance of resources hosted on the Moodle system and other platforms used to host internally developed learning resources.
  • To escalate issues as necessary arising from system users.
  • To support educators with the uploading of courses on Moodle, ensuring adherence to governance processes
  • To support learners as necessary in the use of the Moodle platform for the uploading of assignments and accessing on-line resources
  • To liaise with the Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) team to raise system issues relating to Moodle and the learning portal and provide necessary details to ensure swift resolution and minimal downtime
  • To maintain an assets register and schedule for the annual review of digital educational resources available on the Moodle platform and learning portal
  • To liaise with NHS Elect on a monthly basis in order to obtain and record activity data on the use of digital resources on their platform by Trust staff. To collate this data and provide it to the Learning and Development management team
  • To promote accessibility to digital learning resources by undertaking regular checks to ensure are working effectively and flag any issues or concerns identified
  • To maximize the use of internal communications channels in order to raise awareness of the range of digital resources available and to liaise with Education Academy teams to promote accessibility of internally developed resources such as webinars, podcasts, hybrid materials.

Educational and Professional Development

  • To manage and prioritise own time and workload, working autonomously under guidance
  • To promote the work of the Education Academy displaying a positive and professional approach at all times.
