Job summary
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic midwife for the Deputy Associate Director of Midwifery: Quality and Safety, based at the Royal London Hospital. Your role will also include leading on the maternity transition into Patient Safety and Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) in the Royal London Hospital Maternity Service.
You will have the following qualities:
- The expertise in clinical governance and operations to support the ADOM to provide professional leadership and day to day management of the service.
- To provide leadership to midwives, by promoting the highest standards in the learning environment with the aim to ensure the delivery of safe quality care.
- Self-relating midwifery practitioner who horizon-scans to ensure the divisional governance activities remain in line with current best practice.
- Experience in transformational leadership.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist the Aasociate Director of Midwifery (ADOM) in the development of the professional midwifery agenda to achieve consistency of practice, high standards of care and innovation with a strong patient safety focus. They will work in conjunction with the Divisional Management Team to ensure the delivery and achievement of the group's objectives and contribute to the strategic policies for midwifery and maternity services.
The post holder will support the ADOM to champion the excellent care of women and their families through professional leadership, in service learning and supporting the RLH staff to help establish the hospital as a national innovator and leader in the field of healthcare education and research that underpins service based learning.
The post holder will provide professional leadership and management to midwives promoting the highest standards in the learning environment with the aim to ensure the delivery of safe quality care.
The post holder will
- provide professional leadership and management to the Clinical Governance Team, Bereavement Team and Senior Midwifery Team.
- Ensure adherence to all NMC codes and standards.
- Develop and monitor evidence based practice.
- Promote best practice and implementing innovations in care.
