Job summary
This is a core anaesthetic training post based at Newham University Hospital which has resulted from vacancy in the national anaesthetic training programme.
This is a fixed 6 months contract starting in February 2023.
Main duties of the job
This post is offering a fantastic opportunity for anaesthetists, who have completed their IAC and 6 months of anaesthetics and are looking to gain further experience to apply for a national training number, or gain experience towards CESR.
The post is modelled on the Stage One anaesthetic training and take you through the general and specific domains of the 2021 RCoA curriculum.
You will be working with the other trainees in the department under the clinical supervision of consultant anaesthetists to gain your anaesthetic competencies and you will have an educational supervisor who will support your development and who will be responsible for your educational progress and e-portfolio sign off.
This post is a 6 month fixed term placement at Newham University Hospital from February 2023. Career development will be actively supported with the opportunity to develop skills in obstetric anaesthesia (possibility to achieve IAOC), regional anaesthesia, education, simulation, research, management, and governance.
The department is accredited for training by the GMC and study leave is supported by the Trust to allow facilitate attendance on courses and at conferences. The department will provide Educational Development Time (EDT) as per the RCOA guidance.
