An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the operational management team at Whipps Cross University Hospital, part of Barts Health NHS Trust based in North-East London.
The Women's and Children's Division is seeking a new Service Manager to oversee the day-to-day management and operational delivery of their high quality, patient focused services whilst driving forward an exciting service improvement agenda.
The Service Manager is a key position within the Division's leadership team, being responsible for the operational and performance management of services delivered at the Whipps Cross Hospital site. Further to this, the post holder will play a key role in the delivery of the NHS constitutional standards, the cancer and elective recovery programme and take the lead on service improvements to benefit our patients and staff.
The role offers excellent scope for professional growth and development, with real autonomy and responsibility coupled with the support of an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic clinical and managerial leadership team.

Main duties of the job
The Service Manager is a key management role and is responsible for the operational delivery of all aspects of the service areas across Whipps Cross Site.
Key aims are:
- Provide timely, efficient and effective operational service management support for all specialities within remit, assisting the Clinical Director, Lead Clinicians and General Manager to ensure that these services are responsive, innovative and provided to the highest possible clinical and performance standards.
- Take forward agreed projects to improve service delivery and patient experience in key areas.
- Lead on ensuring that all performance/quality targets are met.
- Problem solve as appropriate, and develop and implement lasting solutions in conjunction with clinical colleagues. To be a key member of the Division's Tier 3 Management Team, taking full responsibility for actions and for keeping other team members fully informed at all times.
