We are looking for an experienced B6 or B7 PT who can lead the Surgery & Amputee service at Whipps Cross Hospital. This is a new post and will co-lead the integrated team of PTs, OTs & support workers on the Surgical Wards & lead the Amputee Outpatient Service. The Surgical Division includes Critical Care, Surgery, Orthopaedics & Amputees under one Clinical Lead. The successful candidate will work with the other B7 therapists in the Surgical Division to further develop therapy provision & standards.

Applicants will need to hold current HCPC registration, have broad clinical skills including recent acute surgery & prosthetic amputee experience in the NHS or similar health service at senior level. There is a strong commitment to staff training, service improvement and support for leadership.

There is a rostered service to ensure 7-day provision between 8am - 6pm. The postholder would be rostered for weekend working but no more frequent than 1 in 4 weekends with time off in lieu during the week.

Main duties of the job

To co-lead the therapy service on the Surgical Wards and lead the Amputee Rehabilitation Physiotherapy service ensuring provision of a high standard physiotherapy service to patients, as well as contributing to weekend and on call service provision. The co-leading for the surgical wards is with the band 7 OT. The wider team incorporates critical care and that physiotherapy provision is lead by the B7 PT in Critical Care. All three band 7s work in harmony together
