Job summary

SQL Developer - Band 6

The Clinical Systems - Data Warehouse Applications Team is seeking to recruit to this position within the existing Data Warehouse Applications Team.

The successful candidate will work within a dynamic team which supports the Trust's corporate data warehouse system helping drive the Trusts reporting and operational needs.

The Clinical Systems Department has completed a large programme of technical changes which is driving further system adoption. To support this system adoption you will lead a group of Developers to deliver new datasets as well as working on developments to enhance the Barts Health Data Warehouse.

Main duties of the job

Your developer toolkit should include SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) & Transact-SQL (T-SQL).

Our ideal candidate will have experience of this area of work within the NHS and be familiar with NHS datasets. Familiarity with the NHS PbR and commissioning process would be an advantage.

Essential

  • Educated to Degree level study or equivalent
  • The ability to learn quickly in a complex and technically demanding environment, obtaining relevant information from manuals etc., when needed.
  • The ability to write accurate and clear specifications, reports, program documentation etc
  • Trained in the full range of IT disciplines including system analysis, system design, programming, testing and implementation, gained over extensive experience in an IT development environment.
  • Specialist knowledge of a number of technical areas such as business analysis, relational databases, and specialist programming

Desirable

  • Evidence of continuous development
  • Professional lT qualification Eg: Microsoft Certified Professional
  • lTlL Foundation Certificate
  • An aptitude for systems analysis and design; the ability to communicate with all levels of hospital staff, to determine how computing can best assist them
