Are you an experienced band 6 midwife who is passionate about delivering high, quality care within community midwifery settings? Then we want to hear from you! We are looking for enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated individuals who are dedicated to providing continuity of care for women and birthing people throughout their pregnancy and birthing journey in all settings, in particular, at home.

We have several opportunities available to work within one of our community teams at either Newham University Hospital, Whipps Cross Hospital or Royal London Hospital. As an autonomous community midwifery practitioner, you will be part of a supportive and experienced team providing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care. You will have the opportunity to care for your own caseload, with a collective team on-call commitment to cover the homebirth service 24/7 across the geographical areas the 3 sites cover.

Main duties of the job

We understand and value that each of our midwives are individuals. With individual needs, motivation, and aspiration we are committed in supporting you. By working in our community teams, you will be supported by your Team Leader and Matron. Alongside this, you will also have support from our Professional Midwifery Advocates, through Restorative Clinical Supervision group and 1:1 sessions. We have a well-established Employee Wellbeing Service, training and development, and opportunities that you may choose to access as part of your personal development and extended support.

Full and part time hours, including flexible working, will be considered.

At Barts Health NHS Trust our local community is home to families from a diverse mix of ethnicity, social challenge and health needs. We provide Maternity Services to approximately 17000 women a year and support 14000 births across three hospitals in very modern up to date facilitates. We have a level 2 and 3 neonatal units situated within the trust as well as excellent facilities in Fetal and Maternal Medicine.
