This is an exciting opportunity for a Lead clinical nurse specialist for Gynaecology-oncology to take on this specialist nursing leadership role as a key member within the Gynaecology oncology team, working across the Bart's Health NHS Trust hospital sites including and providing professional support and leadership to Newham, Royal London and Whipps Cross hospitals and in partnership with St Bartholomew's hospital Cancer services. The post holder will be an experienced clinical nurse specialist and Leader within Gynaecology/Gynaecology-oncology, with a track record of exceling in patient care, innovation also the ability to work across professional boundaries, underpinned by our Trust core WeBelong values.
You will work in collaboration with our Gynaecology oncology team to help develop and deliver services across organisational, professional and beyond. You will also work closely with key areas of the Trust, forging close working relationships with both our Medical and Cancer teams and our Specialist Palliative Care team. This post will professionally support all Gynaecology oncology nurse specialist across the various hospitals.
It is essential that you possess clinical nursing leadership skills, excellent patient care, high professionalism and experience within Gynaecology oncology and/or specialist Palliative Care with evidence of on-going continuous professional development.
Main duties of the job
The role will provide support to patients, relatives and services referred to Gynaecological Oncology services to the Barts Hospitals. This role supports the oncology services and the wider team. The post is intended to represent a significant improvement on the services provided to the patients in and out of hospitals There is a strong multidisciplinary team within the service and the Lead CNS will be a key member of the team with a remit encompassing high quality patient care and staff education.
This post will be based at Royal london hospital but travel to other hospital within the group will be required with the main purpose of managing the Gynaecological Oncological patients, colleagues and related service pathways. This role will support the on-going improvement effort to shorten diagnostic pathways, reduce variation, improve patient experience of care, contribute to the Personalissed Care Agenda, meet the care standard including supporting the colleagues and juniors.
