Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual to join our dynamic team on Day Surgery/Short Stay unit. The environment offers opportunities to expand your knowledge on administration and clerical duties and improve your decision making skills. You will be rotated to three departments and shift pattern varies from Monday to Sunday.

The Day Surgery/Short Stay Unit is an exciting and varied purpose build unit which cares for patients with a range of surgical conditions. This department comprises of four different areas where staff are rotated, they are:

Day Surgery Admission unit

The unit admits and prepares all range of elective surgical, agreed emergencies and Trauma patients. It is a fast paced unit that prepares between sixty to seventy patients per day, this unit work closely with theatre and the Interventional Radiology department.

Day Surgery Unit

The unit cares for patients who have undergone a range of surgical procedures, including general surgery, orthopedics, dermatology, ENT, ophthalmology and maxillo facial surgery. This unit have a maximum of four hours recovery time due to fast pace and the vast number of patients going through the unit.

3D Ward (Short Stay Ward)

3D ward (Short Stay Ward) provides care for patients undergoing or have undergone a range of surgical procedures, including general surgery, orthopaedics, dermatology, ENT and maxillo facial surgery.

Main duties of the job

The Ward Clerk will be responsible for providing a range of clerical support for Short stay ward 3D and Day Surgery.
