Job summary

Due to further expansion a great opportunity has opened for a trainee Medical Photographer and join the Medical Illustration department at Barts Health NHS Trust and be part of a growing team. The department is committed to a high quality service and fully supports the Trusts aims and values whereas you will have a relevant photographic degree and the energy and enthusiasm to successfully complete the Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Illustration. Upon completion and registration with the AHCS you will progress to a band 5 registered Medical Photographer.

You will work within a small and friendly team covering both general clinical and ophthalmic imaging across the Royal London, Whipps Cross and Newham University Hospitals. To meet these challenges you will be outgoing and a self-motivated team player with the ability to study and learn on the job.

The successful candidate will have a keen interest in all things medical with the discipline and desire to succeed.

Main duties of the job

The post holder as a trainee will be part of a team maintaining a high quality medical illustration service to Barts Health NHS Trust, specifically for clinical and ophthalmic photography at the Royal London Hospital and Whipps Cross. As a trainee you will be expected to successfully complete the post graduate certificate in medical illustration. Upon completion and registration with the AHCS the position will convert to a band 5 registered medical photographer.

Whilst based predominantly at the Royal London Hospital you will have a remit to cover all sites within the Trust whilst training and be an integral player in taking the department in to the future.
