Job summary
We are seeking a Plane Tree Centre Senior Patient Pathway Coordinator/ Team Leader to join our expanding Admissions Team in Barts Health NHS Trust Whipps Cross. You will be in charge of the receptionists and surgical ward clerks, managing them as you showcase and represent the Trust with your caring, helpful approach, providing a positive start to the patient pathway.
The post holder will ensure efficient and effective systems of work are carried out and that clinics are booked effectively in accordance with the Trust policies and guidelines. You will be professional and courteous, and have excellent communication skills. You must be enthusiastic, passionate about customer service and able to work under pressure in a very busy environment and at the same time delivering outstanding patient care.
You will provide support to the Theatre Delivery Manager. You will also be expected to work together with the administrative and clinical teams to provide high quality care for patients within all specialties, including the surgical wards.
The ability to forge close working relationships with hospital administration staff, clinical staff and other colleagues is essential to the post; as is the ability to multitask, prioritize, and have excellent communication skills both written and oral. A working knowledge of excel and other Microsoft programmes is essential as is the experience of electronic patient record systems.
Main duties of the job
This post forms a key part of the multi-disciplinary team working with the Whipps Cross Hospital Day Care Unit.
All members of the team will have the flexibility to undertake a wide range of appropriate tasks. The post holder will be positively encouraged to develop their own skills to facilitate the requirements to undertake such other roles and responsibilities as required.
