Job summary

We are currently seeking a motivated Theatre Delivery Manager (TDM) at Whipps Cross Hospital. This is a unique opportunity to work with wider Multisciplinary Teams, Theatre teams and be part of overall Surgical Divisional Management team. TDM will be responsible for the overall operational performance of all theatres at Whipps Cross Hospital whilst working closely with Service Manager and wider Theatre teams. This post holder will be responsible for driving and delivering sustainable efficiency and productivity in theatres.

You will require a high level of organisation skill and have a resourceful and professional approach to work. You should be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability to forge and maintain positive relationships with a variety of clinical and non-clinical staff.

Main duties of the job

Theatres Service Delivery Manager is responsible to the Service Manager for the overall operational performance of all theatres at Whipps Cross Hospital. This post holder will be responsible for driving and delivering sustainable efficiency and productivity in theatres.

This role is seen as one of the key elements for both driving change and ensuring the standardisation of processes across theatres. Post holders will strive to ensure that every theatre list is fully booked to ensure maximum utilisation and that Divisions systems always ensure patient and staff safety.

You will support the Divisions implementation of service improvement as appropriate and general development of services. You will play a key part in supporting change in supporting clinical teams plan and review care pathways.

The post holder will work closely with Theatres, Admissions, Pre-assessment, Anaesthetics, Surgical Services and Clinicians and will be personally responsible for leading and delivering objectives / work streams in their own areas. Key performance targets will be managed, and each scheduling area will be able to demonstrate both continuous improvement and improvement in patient experience.

To ensure that there are clear and transparent measure of success (KPI's) for your service/s and these are delivered at the required level.

You will look after and nurture the staff that you manage to help them to develop their knowledge and skills and perform to a pre-determined level.
