You will start as Band 2 Trainee Pharmacy Assistant for the first 15 months under Annex 21 pay - £19,981-£21,100 per annum inc
An exciting opportunity has come up for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to train under the exceptional Prepacking and Production team at Bart's Health NHS Trust, Pharmacy Technical Services (PTS).PTS is a licensed manufacturing unit with three sites, Royal London Hospital which is based at Whitechapel, St. Barts Hospital and Whipps Cross Hospital. This post will primarily be based at the Whipps Cross Hospital site where medicines are Prepacked for use by patients when they are discharged from wards, within the emergency department and hospital clinics. Rotations within the Royal London Hospital will also be part of the job role where the post holder will gain knowledge and skills to work in clean room areas, under sterile conditions. Previous experience of working in clean rooms is not required as full training will be given by the highly experienced and knowledgeable team.
Main duties of the job
This is a progression post where the individual will initially train to become a Pharmacy Assistant within the pre-packing / production unit and achieve their NVQL2 in Pharmaceutical services. They will then progress to enrol on the Science Manufacturing Technician (SMT) L3 qualification and gain knowledge and skills within Pharmacy Technical Services at an advanced level to become a Senior Pharmacy Assistant after the qualification has been achieved.
Individuals will also be able to register with the Science council for Registered Science Technician ( RSciTech).Full support will be given by both the Education and Training and Pre-packing / Production team to ensure individuals complete their qualifications on time and deadlines are met.
