Job summary
We are currently seeking a specialty doctor/dentist to join our friendly and innovative Oral Medicine Department for 40 hours per week on a 12 month fixed-term contract, based at The Royal London Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Oral medicine clinics, alongside the consultants.
This post will be ideal for those who have completed at least and preferably more two years full-time service since first obtaining registration, ideally including adequate experience as a DFY2/FY2 or a higher grade in Oral Medicine, Oral Surgery or Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
The post-holder forms part of a team of 4 Consultants supported by 3 Specialty Doctors, 2 NIHR trainee's and Trust grade DCT1/2.
There is an established nursing team, led by a Nurse Floor manager and Nurse Lead and recent recruitment of a Dysplasia CNS.
The service is also supported by an experienced Service Manager and Service Delivery Manager, Senior PCC and you will have a nominated secretary.
Main duties of the job
- To attend Oral Medicine clinics and ensure that the care for patients is of a high standard, under the direction and guidance of the Consultants/Specialty Doctor in Oral Medicine. This may involve attending wards to see inpatients admitted to the Royal London Hospital
- To be involved in the Departmental research activity as appropriate to grade
- To participate in the audit of patient services and to contribute appropriate to the grade
- To undertake other duties from time-to-time at the discretion of the Consultants
- To assist the Consultants in their absence, supporting Junior Dentists (DCT1), caring for patients.
