You will join a warm, supportive team of midwives who truly care about women's experience of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. Also providing support through on calls, to support our Homebirth Service.

We are committed in supporting you. We understand and value that each of our midwives are individuals. With individual needs, motivation and aspiration. By working in our Community Midwifery Team, you will be supported by your Team Leader and Matron. Alongside this, you will also have support from our Professional Midwifery Advocates, through Restorative Clinical Supervision, group and 1:1 sessions. You will also have access and support through our well established Employee Wellbeing Service, training, development and other learning opportunities that you may choose to access as part of your personal development.

Main duties of the job

To provide high quality, safe, evidence-based, holistic midwifery care to women in all maternity care settings including antenatal care and postnatal care settings as well as labour and birth at home and in the alongside midwifery unit (integrated midwifery services).

As part of our recent review of our establishment, our brand new Homebirth Team will launch in January at Whipps Cross Hospital. You will be joining our Community Midwives who continue to care for women from booking, throughout pregnancy and postnatal period. But also provide support through on calls to support the new Homebirth ServiceThis includes on-calls and being part of the escalation policy. To provide continuity of carer and to work in partnership with the women, to provide women-centred, personalised midwifery care. To support maternity service needs, which may include rotational working.
