We are delighted to invite applications for substantive posts in Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine at the Royal London. We are looking for exceptional, highly motivated and enthusiastic doctors to join our Pre-hospital Team at London's Air Ambulance on a substantive basis.
Our pre-hospital service provides advanced medical teams to a spectrum of patients across London including those who are critically injured. We aspire to provide the highest quality of clinical care under challenging circumstances. We take pride in high quality clinical governance, training and education and these posts are intended to attract doctors from a variety of backgrounds and experiences as detailed in the job description and person specification.

Qualifications and knowledge
Essential
- MBBS or equivalent
- FRCEM, FRCA, FRCS, FFICM or equivalent
- GMC Specialist registration
- Demonstrable knowledge of contemporary acute trauma care and prehospital care.
- Demonstration of the ability to work in the LAA Prehospital system at consultant level including previous experience of supervision and training doctors in the pre-hospital environment
Experience
Essential
- Have at least 2 years experience of working in prehospital care
- A six-month secondment with London's Air Ambulance system as a doctor
- Experience aligned with current recommendations for sub-specialist GMC registration by the Intercollegiate board for training in pre-hospital emergency medicine
- A substantive consultant appointment in base specialty and the ability to accommodate the demands of two roles to support the needs of the LAA service.
Desirable
- Recent currency with London's Air Ambulance System (within the last 3 years)
- Training in endovascular resuscitation techniques
- Completed a recognised training programme in pre-hospital emergency medicine
- A six month secondment with another UK HEMS/ pre-hospital service
- Six months' experience in an international HEMS/ pre-hospital/ retrieval service
