Job summary
An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Nurse for Endoscopy role in the Specialist Medicine Division, working within the Directorate Management triumvirate team to lead 2 Endoscopy departments and the decontamination units. This covers 3 sites (Royal London Hospital, St Bartholomews & Mile End Hospital).
You will need to be an outstanding Senior Nurse, motivating your team to deliver continuous improvements to patient care & experience, focussing on developing and nurturing the nursing team, a passion for governance as well as being a visible leader. An experience in Endoscopy is essential.
But beyond this, you will be part of developing and delivering improvements in changes to services across East London and beyond, through our many strategic partnerships and networks
Main duties of the job
The Senior Nurse will work closely with the Associate Director of Nursing and Divisional teams and in a team comprising Lead Clinicians, Service and General Managers, and Senior nurses. As part of this team the Senior Nurse will be responsible for the delivery of Endoscopy services against the goals and standards for quality, safety, activity, financial management and workforce.
The Senior Nurse will be required to demonstrate partnership working and collaboration with other senior leaders and to provide expert daily leadership and support to all levels of staff in the Endoscopy Service, and to ensure high quality patient care is delivered at all times and to take appropriate steps if this is not the case.
The Senior Nurse will participate in strategic planning, taking into account corporate, divisional and professional objectives and within a clinical governance framework as well as provide health education and advice.
The Senior Nurse will provide nursing leadership and direction to Endoscopy services with a particular focus on providing high quality, safe, well-governed, productive and cost-effective services which support the trust in delivering its strategic objectives.
The Senior Nurse will participate in the delivery and organisation of formal and informal teaching and staff development.
The Senior Nurse will lead on and participate in activities/projects which contribute to the provision and delivery of evidence-base practice.
