Participate in the provision of the emergency on-call service, at times working as the only radiographer experienced in IR.
To be able to work unsupervised for long periods of time and act autonomously within protocols.
To be aware of the relevant safety issues for interventional imaging, ensuring that all necessary checking and safety procedures are carried out prior to imaging the patient, and that relevant advice and information on preparation is given to patients, carers and other staff. To ensure that all equipment is cleaned before use.

To understand and participate in the administrative processes that are directly linked to the IR patient pathway.

To rotate through other modalities within the Imaging department including, but not limited to, CT, A&E, General X-ray.
