Main duties of the job

One 10 PA Specialty Dentist position in Paediatric Dentistry has become available within the Paediatric Dental Department at Barts Health Trust. We are looking for a specialist to assess and treat children referred to our department. Theatre sessions will take place in the Trust Paediatric Day Stay Wards.

The Speciality dentist will provide care for children referred in for secondary and tertiary care. They will help oversee the Children's Dental Emergency Clinic, provide clinical supervision of Junior staff, and run theatre lists independently. They will be expected to provide treatment under general anaesthetic, local anaesthetic, and sedation. The post holder will be expected to participate in professional dental responsibilities and training of the junior staff, postgraduate, undergraduate and therapy students.

Applicants should possess full registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council (GDC) and be on the GDC Specialist Register in Paediatric Dentistry.
