Director of Nursing and Governance - VSM
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Royal London and Mile End Hospitals as our Director of Nursing and Governance.
The role will report directly to the Hospital Chief Executive, with a professional line to the Chief Nursing Officer, and you will be accountable for the delivery of the professional nursing agenda at The Royal London and Mile End Hospitals. The role has specific focus on workforce, education, clinical effectiveness and patient safety as well as professional practice, research and innovation and patient experience.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for a skilled compassionate and inclusive leader who will provide strong professional leadership across all care settings, encouraging innovation, creativity, and strategic thinking about service provision and staff experience.
The successful candidate will be joining a management team who will support you so that you are able to flourish in the role alongside being a key player in the wider Barts Health NMAHP leadership community. There will be many opportunities for both personal and professional development.

About The Royal London Hospital
As one of the largest hospitals in the NHS, the Royal London is proud to be a major Trauma Centre, hosting the London Air Ambulance and the busiest ED in North-East London. Our tertiary specialised services include complex inflammatory & metabolic medicine, the specialised Childrens Hospital for east London, two major surgical services with a complex abdominal-pelvic and complex Head & Neck (including a nationally leading mechanical thrombectomy service for stroke) centres supporting care at six other hospitals across our region.

Our networked services include renal dialysis and transplantation, sexual health, neurosciences, and community childrens services for Tower Hamlets.
Within our Place, Tower Hamlets, we manage Mile End Hospital, a community site focused on rehabilitation and outpatient long-term condition management.
