Job summary
Heather ward at Newham Hospital is a 26 bedded combined unit consisting of 13 Cardiology beds and 13 Stroke beds.
We are very proud to provide exceptional care to all our patients and are looking for dynamic, highly motivated and experienced nurse to join our team. You will need to be a positive leader, excellent communicator with high standards coming as second nature to you. Good level of experience within both specialty Cardiac and Stroke is required. This Registered Nurse post provides the opportunity to further develop teaching, management, and leadership skills in a supportive clinical setting. We are looking for someone who is able to work around the 24/7 rota.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of a consistently high standard of care to meet patient needs and Unit objectives.
The post holder must demonstrate clinical expertise in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care using an holistic approach.
The post holder must possess fundamental management and facilitation skills in order to co-ordinate and supervise the activity of Unit staff, promote multi-disciplinary working and foster a supportive, learning environment.
In the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse the post holder will assume responsibility for the effective operation of the Unit.
As a Registered Nurse the post holder is expected to consistently act in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
