Job summary
The ACCESS Lead Nurse is a key clinical leader with the Adult Critical Care Emergency Support Service (ACCESS) the role will provide strategic nursing and professional leadership being responsible for ensuring high quality compassionate care. This will include ensuring that professional standards, leadership, monitoring and review mechanisms are in place to develop high quality patient driven services within available resources. This role is part of a team with the Clinical Director and Operational Director providing clinical and operational leadership to ACCESS.
In collaboration with the Operational Leadership Team be responsible for development and application of systems, control processes and risk management arrangements that ensure full compliance with internal and external governance procedures and to benchmark against best practice requirements. They will contribute to service and business planning and workforce development within the service
Main duties of the job
Provide expert clinical knowledge in the provision of critical care transfers. To develop with others effective policies and guidelines for practice which lead to improvements in patient care.The post holder will provide forward-thinking visible clinical and professional leadership and be responsible for professional and operational leadership of Nursing and AHP services within the service, including devising, implementing, and reviewing strategies, education, management, and quality issues. Be an effective leader of change, embedding a culture of continuous quality improvement, innovation and use of technology that meets the changing needs of patients and service users.
