Job summary
East Ham Ward, Newham University Hospital
- We are friendly.
- We are welcoming.
- We are a community.
- Join the Newham family.
Newham serves one of the most diverse populations in the country and our team here are committed to finding new and innovative ways of delivering healthcare to our community. We specialise in finding alternative ways to meet the needs of our community and look to deliver the best treatment and support in partnership with community and specialist providers rather than the traditional 'hospital model'. Working in these different settings can give staff a real opportunity to get to know their patients and the local area.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Ward Clerk (band 3) to join our team. We are an established team looking after patients who have undergone surgery.
Main duties of the job
You will provide a comprehensive range of clerical functions to support the ward team in delivering high quality service for the patients.
You will be the first to communicate to our patients and visitors, either face to face or via telephone, and therefore excellent communication and customer service skills are a must.
To promote teamwork among the surgical ward clerks, you will offer support in case a member of your team is off duty.
Working hours are 37.5 hours per a week Monday to Friday.
