Job summary
We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated individual who can provide expert clinical and resourceful leadership to our Cath lab team. Working as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate must be committed to ensuring the delivery of safe care through all avenues providing the Cath labs with adequate stock and safe equipment.
They will have proven clinical, management, and teaching experience, and must have the ability to communicate and support their colleagues. The role also involves taking responsibility for ensuring the on-going professional relationships with materials management and external companies.
Experience or knowledge in all aspects of Cath lab procedures is highly desirable, and embedded relationships with external companies also an advantage.
A secondment for this post will also be considered
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of Cath lab equipment and stock at St. Bartholomew's Hospital. The post holder will be expected to provide professional leadership within the team, liaising with multiple disciplines including but not limited to external companies, materials management, procurement and finance, Cath lab management, clinical engineering and the Cath lab MDT.
The post holder will be involved in the development of protocols / guidelines where stock and equipment is considered, implementing where necessary to ensure the smooth running of the Cath labs.
They will be expected to report back to Cath lab management on a weekly basis, providing detailed reports from Atticus demonstrating changes in stock usage, advised increase/decreases to par levels and regular updates on current tender agreement progress and any expiring stock; this information will all be gathered through a robust working relationship with materials management.

Job responsibilities
To be involved in the purchasing and maintenance of all Cath lab equipment for St. Bartholomews Hospital.
To arrange the training for all staff in the use of Cath lab equipment both new and in current usage.
Act as the POCT representative for Cath labs at the relevant site/trust meetings
To manage inter-hospital equipment loans in conjunction with the Trust decontamination lead.
To be responsible for new technology/equipment trials, audit and present data to relevant stake holders
To be wholly accountable for his / her practice with Trust policies and SOPs and take every reasonable opportunity to sustain and improve his / her knowledge and professional competence.
- To communicate effectively and efficiently and liaise with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that all equipment is fit for purpose so that all patients receive seamless care within the Trust.
- To act as a role model to the staff. To apply clinical skills of the highest standard and to take a proactive approach to the development of clinical competence in self and others.
