Barts Pharmacy Department are looking for a motivated individual who is ambitious and forward-thinking with clinical experience working in the Stroke and Older Peoples Service to join our Pharmacy team at the Royal London Hospital.
You will be responsible for supporting the Lead Clinical Pharmacist for Emergency Care and Medicine and the Head of Pharmacy (HoP), in delivering high quality clinical pharmacy services to the Stroke and Older Peoples Service directorate at the Royal London Hospital. You will lead on promoting safe and cost-effective prescribing of medicines within the speciality in order to optimise patient outcomes, minimise adverse reactions and improve medicines safety within the division in line with national strategy.
You will be supported to further develop your abilities as a senior leader via a combination of internal and external training programmes, alongside developing your clinical acumen.We welcome applications from individuals with excellent communications skills who demonstrate a patient-centred focus and compassionate and collaborative leadership. You will require excellent prioritisation skills and have a passion for service review and quality improvement.
Main duties of the job
o To support the Lead Clinical Pharmacist for Emergency Care and Medicine and the Head of Pharmacy (HoP) in the delivery of the clinical pharmacy and medicines optimisation services to the Emergency department and medicine directorate at the Royal London Hospitalo Manage the foundation training and senior pharmacists rotating into the specialtyo To provide a high level of clinical pharmacy input to the relevant specialty as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal medicines usage and value for moneyo Manage drug related incidents and complaints, both written and verbal, effectively and according to Trust policieso Support and advise the senior leadership team on budget issues relating to the Emergency department and medicine directorate at the Royal London Hospital
