We are looking for an experienced and motivated cardiology nurse who will be working as part of a team of nurse specialists, involved in the assessment and management of patients with, or suspected of an inherited arrhythmia (IA), or with a family history of an IA. This includes long QT syndrome, Brugada syndrome, catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT), short QT, idiopathic ventricular fibrillation, or a family history of sudden arrhythmic death.

Main duties of the job
To deliver a high-quality nursing service to patients with an Inherited Arrhythmia (IA), including those with or suspected of - long QT syndrome, Brugada syndrome, catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT), short QT, idiopathic ventricular fibrillation or a family history of sudden arrhythmic death syndrome.
To have excellent communication with patients, their families, colleagues, and other members of the internal and external multidisciplinary team.
To manage a caseload of patients with an IA, from instigating the referral into the service, their first appointment, to all subsequent follow-up appointment, to moving stable patients to an open follow up.
To work autonomously and collaboratively in both consultant-led and nurse-led IA clinics and the nurse-led genetic counselling clinic.
Providing emotional support and advice to patients admitted to the ward after a cardiac arrest, or significant arrhythmic event.
Organize and present at the IA multidisciplinary team (MDT) meeting run with teams from Great Ormond Street Hospital and Barts in addition to other inherited cardiac conditions centres.
To undertake teaching and training of the MDT in the provision of care for IA patients.
To actively participate in and promote research and service improvement and development.
