Job summary
In May 2021 Barts Health NHS Trust, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust formed an arms-length pathology service. The Pathology services from all three Trusts became a single organisation, hosted by Barts Health NHS Trust, which is called the NHS East and South East London Pathology Partnership (referred to as 'the Pathology Partnership'). The Partnership has an operating budget of c. £110m per annum with a workforce establishment of c. 800 WTE.
The Partnership is now working through a number of phases towards implementation of a Hub and spoke operating model.

Main duties of the job
Reporting to the Finance Director of the Pathology Partnership, this role will work as part of a senior team supporting the Pathology Partnership's leadership team to ensure the provision of high quality financial management and financial reporting information as well as providing day-to-day expert advice and support to managers and staff across the Pathology Partnership.

The NHS East and South East London Pathology Partnership is an arms-length organisation providing pathology services to Barts Health NHS Trust, Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. The Pathology Partnership is hosted by Barts Health.
The Pathology Partnership is based on well-established models for pathology networks, with the Royal London Hospital becoming the main hub laboratory for the network and Essential Service Laboratories (ESL) as a minimum at all other Hospital sites.
Pathology is made up of the following services - Blood Sciences including Haematology, Blood Transfusion and Biochemistry; Infectious Diseases including Microbiology and Virology; Cellular Pathology including Histopathology, non-gynae Cytology and mortuary services; Immunology; Cytogenetics and Molecular Haematology; Immunophenotyping; Clinical Transplantation and Retinoblastoma.
The 2020/21 total operating costs across the Partnership were c. £126m per annum with a workforce establishment of circa. 822 WTE.
