Join us at Newham University Hospital to serve the East London community in a very essential area in in the delivery of quality care. This is a band 7 development post for 12-18 months, which will convert to a band 8a, subject to fulfilling competencies. We're looking for an experienced and dynamicclinical nurse specialist, to lead and develop our progressive acute and chronic paid management service.
This is an exciting time to work with our specialist team, to empower patients and improve their quality of life.
This is an opportunity for developing and strengthening the epidural service, establishing the enhanced recovery pathway within the surgical centre, and promoting our Musculoskeletal (MSK) joint school.
The successful candidate will work with key stakeholders across the hospital, including matrons. clinical leads, consulting anesthetics surgeons. You will provide compassionate and visible leadership and be responsible for driving forward service improvements whilst maintaining patient centered care.
The surgery department works closely with Barts Health Education Academy in order to retain strong links for staff development. This role will give you an opportunity to undertake quality improvement project to further develop your leadership and managerial competencies.
Main duties of the job
As a Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist you will:
Act as an expert in pain management and provide pain services throughout the Hospital, through evidence-based practice, education and policy/guideline development. The role will encompass all aspects of acute and chronic pain
Provide clinical leadership to nursing staff and expert professional advice to other professionals, multi-disciplinary groups, patients, relatives and carers.
