Job summary
After completion of supervised practice and competencies, the post holder will become an autonomous and expert practitioner in placing ultrasound-guided Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICCs), Midlines and peripheral cannulas for both adult inpatients and outpatients.
This role is responsible for ensuring that patients receive the appropriate Vascular Access Device (VAD) in a timely way and that these VADs are followed-up and managed correctly. The role also involves supporting patients and carers with expert advice, educating staff on the care and management of vascular access devices, carrying out audits, as well as taking part to quality improvements projects.

An exciting job opportunity has arisen within SBH to be part of the growing Vascular Access Team.
We provide vascular access devices to inpatients as well as outpatients, placing over a thousand of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICCs) and Midlines per year.

The Vascular Access Practitioner will be responsible for providing clinical excellence for patients through assessment, insertion, follow-up of vascular access devices as well as management of their complications.
