Job summary

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a motivated and energetic Band 5 Leg Ulcer Clinic Nurse.

The Successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, ambitious and experienced Registered Nurse, who is keen to advance their clinical, professional and leadership skills. You will be expected to deliver excellent highly specialist patient centred leg ulcer treatment to patients who are able to attend clinics across the Dudley Borough.

To be successful you will need to have experience and knowledge in Leg Ulcer treatment and an understanding of all the National and Local guidelines and pathways relevant to this cohort of patients.

You will have responsibility for developing relationships with all stakeholders to ensure a seamless approach to the care of patients with leg ulcers, working closely with district nurses and primary care services.

You will assist in educating colleagues in the implementation of integrated pathways of care and delivering on training packages and supervision/mentoring.

You will be organized, confident, able to work independently, and be an excellent communicator.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for providing nursing care for patients requiring assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care within the Leg Ulcer Clinic.

The post holder will carry out all forms of clinical care and in the absence of the Leg Ulcer Clinic Team Leader, the post holder will take continuing responsibility for co-ordinating the care of patients requiring treatment within the Leg Ulcer clinic.

The post holder will be required to provide line management support for all aspects of the Leg Ulcer Clinic team in the absence of the Leg Ulcer Team Lead.
