An opportunity has arisen within our Operating Theatres for one full-time Theatre Rostering Co-ordinator to work in conjunction with the clinically experienced substantive Rostering Co-ordinator.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the department with the implementation and management in respect to the health roster and play a key role in the delivery of various improvement projects.
  • Be responsible to produce theatre rosters for all specialities to include ensuring publication of rosters in line with Trust policy, ensuring adequate skill mix and equitability for all staff ensuring service needs are met.
  • Support the Specialty Managers, Theatre Manager, Matrons and Nursing and Directorate Managers within Theatres in developing and monitoring services to deliver the optimum level of care experienced by patients.
  • Be responsible for the appropriate use of agency and bank staff.
  • Lead effective rostering for the department.
  • Assist the Specialty Managers, Theatre Manager and Nursing and Directorate Managers for Theatres in managing change effectively within the Operating Theatres, to promote improved patient care and practices.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues from other disciplines.
