Over the past few years Acute Medicine has expanded into the 2 storey rainbow unit which hosts a level 1 facility within the building and more recently we have taken on an extra 22 assessment spaces. Plus the addition of AMU Assessment and AMU 4 (A4). In your role as a band 6 sister/ charge nurse in acute medicine you will be supported by an amazing team of all bands.

Main duties of the job
As a band 6 sister/charge nurse you will be responsible for caring for a group of acutely unwell patients, specifically in the level 1 monitored area, providing clinical care and support to patients, being a mentor to junior staff and students and also being a link nurse for one of the many topics covered in the area.
You will also be required to support the lead nurse and matron for the area.
There are always developmental opportunities within AMU, competency books and in-house training have recently been introduced for senior staff within the unit.
