Administrator - Diabetes and Endocrinology
To provide a quality administrative/ support service to the Diabetes and Endocrinology Team.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitable candidate to play a crucial role as an administrator for the Diabetes and Endocrinology team at the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will liaise with a wide range of staff and patients to deliver an excellent level of care. You need to be self-motivated, well organised and a good communicator.
It is essential that the post holder maintains confidentiality at all times.
Main duties of the job
- Answer all telephone calls and pro-actively deal with queries, liaising with the clinical staff where necessary
- Collate information for reporting ahead of audits
- Support the organisation of MDT meetings alongside the MDT coordinator
- Support with the audio typing of medical correspondence and general administration.
- Book patient appointments
- Deal with incoming emails and post
- Be responsible for ordering and maintaining stock
To type clinical correspondence for consultants and their teams, ensuring accuracy and timely management of letters.
Support with the management of nursing clinics, including utilisation and cancellations.
Prioritise workload independently, identifying urgency, highlighting problems and taking appropriate action to prevent or solve problems without supervision.

- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths - grade C or above
- Typing and word processing skills to RSA II/III or equivalent
Desirable
- Business administration NVQ level 2/3/AMSPAR Diploma
Knowledge and Training
Essential
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programmes (i.e. Word & Outlook, Excel and Electronic diaries). Proficient in developing and maintaining clinical database systems
- Accurate Audio/copy typing

- NHS experience (2 years or more)

- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
