Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Nurse to join our inpatient nursing team. We care for a wide variety of acutely ill patients.
You will work alongside a dedicated consultant team and with patients on non-invasive ventilation, CPAP, Optiflow management and tracheostomy care. You will work with DRAS, Lung Cancer and TB services.
You will provide respiratory nursing care to complex patients and to lead by example in delivering compassionate and first class quality care. A good level of understanding and demonstration of respiratory medicine is an advantage.
You will be required to take charge of the ward and lead a team of our junior staff with their learning and developmental needs.
Our dedicated clinical leads and our PDN will provide support, training and encouragement alongside clinical supervision if required to enhance your training, learning and professional career.
We will expect you to work flexibly but if needed the support of a flexible working plan could be discussed.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the management of the nursing unit / department during the shift, including the organisation of the nursing unit / department activities and the management of staff and resources. The post holder will support the Lead Nurse and Matron in developing and monitoring services and the quality of care experienced by patients. The post holder should have a specialist interest in developing their knowledge in the care of patients with acute medical and respiratory conditions.
