Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate, motivated, and dedicated band 6 HIV Specialist Nurse to join the HIV Service.
The HIV departmentis a busy and challenging environment to work in. The post holder must be able todemonstrateexcellent communication skills,have the ability toremain calm under pressure and be able to multi-task whilst also being aware of patientconfidentiality.
Main duties of the job
The post holder willbe responsible forprovidinga high standard of healthcare to patients accessing theHIV service. The post holder will be expected to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team offering holistic, non-judgemental caredemonstratingprofessional and ethical responsibilities and to build andmaintaincollaborative/integrated working with other professional organisations and Third sector groups to ensure the health needs of the patient are met.

- NMC Registered Nurse (Adult) or Midwife
- Relevant contraceptive qualification
- Relevant CASH/GUM experience
- Evidence recent professional development
- To work under Patient Group Directives (PGDs)
Desirable
- Recognised mentorship and preceptorship or willingness to undertake
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Must have recent primary or secondary healthcare experience within a Sexual Health environment
- Comprehensive Sexual Health nursing skills
- Experience of delivering teaching and education programmes to clients and staff
- Able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload
- Demonstrate an excellent knowledge of confidentiality issues, in particular those associated with sexual health patients
