A fantastic opportunity has arisen for us to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic person to our small, friendly team, We are a busy ENT Outpatients department which puts the patient at the heart of all we do. Nominated for the Team Excellence Awards in 2020, we are a forward thinking, supportive team that is looking for a focussed, caring Clinical Support Worker, to support our Multi Disciplinary Team. This is a varied role, each day has different demands, and will provide the right candidate with an interesting opportunity to deliver high quality care and develop their own skills. You will work 3 days per week on a rota basis, 08.30-17.00. We are open Monday - Friday 08.00-17.00 and we need someone who can provide flexible working to support the service requirements.

Main duties of the job

The Care Support Worker will work together with members of the Nursing / Midwifery Medical Team and contribute to the implementation of a high standard of patient care.

He/she will communicate effectively with other members of the health care team, patients and relatives and recognise and report to the appropriate person changes in the patient's condition, which may require the intervention of others.

He/she will communicate to the Team Leader any clinic administrative/organisational problems that impact upon the smooth running of clinics and/or the patient pathway through the ENT outpatient service.

For new appointments only: The post holder will be assessed on appointment on their level of competence and required as part of the Trusts training and development programme for care support workers to undertake a structured pathway of development to include basic skills, in house development programme and NVQ level 2 in Care within an agreed timescale.

Essential

  • Maths and English qualification - GCSE A-D, or Grade 4-9, or Functional Skills Level 1
  • Care Certificate or ability to complete within 12 weeks of commencing employment
  • QCF/NVQ Level 2 in Healthcare or equivalent qualification/relevant experience

Knowledge & Training

  • Ability to recognise limitations of knowledge and competence and practice within these boundaries
