Job summary
The Newborn Hearing Screening Programme Local Manager is the operational lead for the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust newborn hearing screening programme, reporting to the NHSP Team Leader. The post holder under guidance from the NHSP Team Leader takes professional andclinical responsibility for leading the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme, including the management and ongoing development of the Newborn Hearing Screening Team in accordancewith the policies of the National Newborn Hearing Screening Programme. The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring prompt and appropriate referrals to audiology from the service ensuring any delays are highlighted to the NHSP Team Leader.The post holder will support the clinical provision of the Newborn Hearing Screening Service within the Maternity service at The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
Principle duties and responsibilities include:
Operational management of the hearing screening programme
Management and supervision of the hearing screening team
Maintaining the competency and continued professional development of the hearing screener team
Ensure data issues are appropriately managed and appropriate record keeping is maintained for the Newborn Hearing Screening Service.
Ensuring all equipment is managed and used in accordance with NHSP national guidance
