This will be reviewed within the first year of employment and on an annual basis thereafter to reflect changing workload, commitments and service needs.

The post holder will be expected to provide general Radiology services as part of the radiology team, including the provision of consulting and advisory services to clinical colleagues. The post holder will contribute to the rota for daytime acute CT and MRI cover and comply with the department's policy for minimising the number of dropped clinical lists.

They will further develop services within the trust and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to maintain the highest standards of care. The proportion of specialist work relative to general radiology provision is open to negotiation.

This currently attracts Band A on call allowance (3% supplement). Night time CT (after 8pm weekdays, 6pm weekends) is currently outsourced. However, the in-house radiologist remains on-call through the night for advice, provision of other modalities and backup in case of IT failure.

3.3 Productivity

Clinical time is allocated in sessions and consultants are expected to ensure optimum utilisation of the sessions allocated to them, with both time and productivity.

Responsibility may be subject to change, as required by the needs of the service.
