We have an exciting opportunity for a professional, passionate and highly motivated Therapy Assistant to join the Dudley Continence service.
We are looking for an experienced Therapy Assistant who has a passion for bladder and bowel care and would like to be a specialist in providing effective life changing treatments for those experiencing bladder, bowel and pelvic floor dysfunctions.
Main duties of the job
You will be joining an enthusiastic and forward-thinking continence team of specialist bladder and bowel nurses and pelvic health physiotherapists.
To facilitate exercise and education groups for patients with bladder or bowel concerns, within community setting including local authority & health centres with the guidance and support of nurses or physiotherapists when appropriate.
To carry out basic subjective assessments regarding bladder and bowel symptoms and deliver basic treatment advice and pelvic floor exercises. This may be in a clinic setting or independently in the patient's home.
To be responsible for the booking and screening of patients into cohorts using the PAS system and collating data for outcome measures and for auditing purposes.

Essential
- BTEC or NVQ level 3 (Health and social care/exercise/therapy related)
Desirable
- Other related clinical qualification
- First Aid qualification
Knowledge and Training
Essential
- Ability to work to guidelines for specific conditions and to seek support when a patient falls outside the 'norm'
- Basic knowledge of Physiotherapy practices
- Basic computer skills
- Basic knowledge of principles and practice of clinical governance
- Ability to commute for demands of the role
Desirable
- Specific knowledge relating to bladder and bowel conditions and basic bladder retraining education, pelvic floor rehab and therapy intervention

- Proven relevant experience as a Physiotherapy Assistant Band 3
- Hands on experience with therapeutic exercises, functional training and physical wellbeing advice
- Experience and confidence in running and facilitating educational, advice and exercise groups
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Experience of administrative duties relating to clinical care such as booking appointments, ordering stock and welcoming patients to the department

- Experience in delivering Massage and teaching Basic Pilates exercises e.g. bridge, clam ect.
- Experience of working within pelvic health speciality
- Previous experience on hospital computer systems such as OASIS
