Job summary

We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic people to come and join our growing team of Radiographic Aides.

We are a busy, multi-specialty department providing services at all Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust sites; Russell's Hall Hospital, Corbett Hospital, Brierley Hill Health and Social Care Centre, Merry Hill and The Guest Outpatient site.

Successful applicants will undertake duties to assist the radiographers in providing the highest quality service and patient care. Tailored training will be provided on commencement dependant on levels of experience. The role will support areas such as CT, MRI, Ultrasound, General X-Ray, ED X-Ray, Interventional Radiology and out of hours. Shifts include day shifts, weekend, evening and nights. Please note this is not a Radiographer or Trainee/Apprentice Radiographer role.

Main duties of the job

Manage the team of band 2 aids and provide expert advice and support to the team.

To be accountable and responsible for the standards of care provided by the Radiology Aides within the department and the delivery of high quality of service.

To be responsible for planning and developing of the Radiology Aides service that meets the Radiology Directorate and Trust Targets and to implement service change.

To assist Radiology staff in the provision of radiology services and assist Radiologists in specialised areas of work.

To provide direct patient care, maintenance of equipment and administrative duties including reception and clerical tasks, to ensure a high quality of service for patients.

Recognise, develop and implement service improvements within area of responsibility in line with best practise and national standards.

Manage staff rotas and clinic lists to ensure a high quality service is delivered.

Organisation of the daily workload of the department and resolve any operational issues

  • 4 x GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including maths and English
